PPP2: Contacting Studios- Robot Food

After we had had our last PPP2 session, Emily Grace and myself decided that it would be great if we could all go as a group to a design studio visit. Neither of us had the confidence to go on our own yet we all wanted to have the experience of this.

We had a look at different design studios but the one studio which we could all agree on was Robot Food in Leeds. They have a range of work which mainly ranges from Product and Packaging and Brand and Identity.

The colourful and illustrative brand identities which are clean and simple is very much my type of design work as I produce work which is quite similar in style. The range of collateral for the brands and the products produced are beautifully created and I would love to see the practises they undertake  to produce this quality of work. Robot Food is defiantly my style of work so I was very much wanting to go ahead with contacting them. Between the three of us, we managed to compose an emails which we felt was individual to them as well as give them the opportunity to have a look for themselves what we can do.

Following the email we sent, we got a reply for Robot Food saying they would like to but they didn't have much time and they asked us to say what we want to achieve from this. I came up with the main content of the reply for this and Emily rewrote this in a way which was more cohesive saying how we would like to know what it would be like in a studio setting as this is what we aim to go into.

Unfortunately, we have been told that they have a lot of work on at the moment so we will have to arrange another time. We are going to give it a few weeks before we send them another message to give them a chance to catch up with work but at the same time not loose the opportunity so they don't forget us.
